Hey Simply Be family!
It’s Valerie Eguavoen here, from Fashion On A Curve. The Simply Be team and I had such an amazing time at the Curvy Con 2017. There was so much fabulousness and fun in one room, and it was awesome to meet many of the lovely Simply Be customers in person. This year the Curvy Con was held during New York Fashion Week (NYFW), one of the busiest seasons in the city. It was so exciting to see women of all shapes and sizes represented in many of this season’s runway shows. While curves made a huge splash on the runways, nothing could top the amazing 2-day experience of the Curvy Con. I had the pleasure of taking over Simply Be’s instagram account during the conference. It was an absolute blast! In case you missed it, here are my 10 best moments from the Curvy Con 2017:
The room was filled with gorgeous and confident women of all shapes, sizes and colors. It was a celebration of diversity in fashion, and I loved every minute of it!
It was so much fun meeting all the lovely plus size bloggers and influencers. I made many great connections and got to chat with some of my favorite fashionistas. Below are a few of the fabulous ladies that were in attendance.
This year, the Curvy Con launched its inaugural runway show. It featured some of the most stunning plus size models, fab collections, and trendy styles for the fall season.
The first day of the Curvy Con kicked off with a fitness session hosted by special guest @massy.arias. Attendees were treated to fresh pressed juices, learned great workout tips, and received some super cool workout swag.
The Simply Be booth was a highlight at the Curvy Con sip and shop. So many lovely ladies stopped by to say hello to the team. The booth featured some of Simply Be's latest fall trends in clothing and accessories. Simply Be also offered makeovers and touch-ups by two talented makeup artists.
This year’s keynote speaker was none other than the talented and hilarious Chrissy Metz. She chatted with attendees about her love for fashion, her journey towards body positivity, and her career as actress on the hit television show This Is Us.
The Curvy Con featured some amazing panel discussions this year. Topics ranged from body diversity, to entrepreneurship, and customer feedback. Attendees learned from the panelist and had the opportunity to share their own experiences.
You could feel the excitement in the air. Women and men came in from all over the country to celebrate plus size fashion at the Curvy Con. There was love laughter and lots of fun.
After all the shopping, it was time to let loose at the Curvy Con. From the electric slide to the wobble, the ladies showed off their finest moves.
Last but not least, my favorite moments were definitely my day 1 and day 2 Curvy Con outfits. On day 1, I opted for a statement dress. The bold 70’s style print was a hit! I completed the look with simple matching accessories.
On day 2, I rocked a metallic velour pleated skirt. Styled with a simple lace bodysuit and blazer, I was ready for a full day of fun at the Curvy Con.
